We've read the book about 4 times so we thought it might be ok, but it was too much. There is a lot of quick-moving and flashing lights for sensitive little ones.
But what is the absolute worst of them? Some would say there's no spell worse than Avada Kedavra, the Killing Curse that Voldemort used so indiscriminately.
To Be Confronted By A Dementor
The confrontation with a Dementor on the Hogwarts Express made Harry realize that this creature was his deepest fear in a corporeal form. The Dementors made his inner feelings of hurt and abandonment come to life, along with bringing back his worst memories.
But Harry's worst fear is a Dementor. Harry's fear of Dementors is deeply significant. Dementors are a metaphor for the deep, inescapable spiral of depression and hopelessness. Harry fears losing every happy memory and being left with only the worst parts of himself — loss, death, and sorrow.
